To the Editor of The Reporter:

Thanks for publishing Robert Sharpe's thoughtful letter: "U. S. drug war
is failed policy" (12-9-12).

I agree that our drug prohibition policies are a failure, however many
groups benefit from these failed policies. I strongly suggest that the
readers go theYoutube.com
and search for: "Judge Jim Gray."

While onYoutube.com I suggest the readers view several other videos by
"Law Enforcement Against Prohibition." I believe these videos will
change many minds.

To the Editor of The Columbian:

I'm writing about Patty Hastings' story: "Crime increases as drug use
does" (12-9-12). 100 years ago people could legally purchase all the
heroin, cocaine or morphine they wanted for pennies per dose at local
grocery stores. 100 years ago the term drug related crime didn't
exist. For the most part drug consumption doe not cause crime. Drug
prohibition policies cause most of our violent and property crime.

The fact is that people are substantially less safe today because of our
so-called war on drugs. I suggest that the readers view a short Youtube
video featuring Stephen Downing the former Deputy Chief of Police of the
Los Angeles Police Department:

http://tinyurl.com/b3juxa4

During the 1960's more than ninety percent of all murders were solved.
Now just over sixty percent of all murders are solved. Why? Because of
our war on drugs.

There are great financial incentives for police to make drug busts and
confiscate the drug dealers money and property but no financial
incentive to solve rapes or murders.

To the Editor of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

Re: "There are good reasons to outlaw marijuana" (12-10-12).

California Superior Court Judge James P. Gray produced an excellent
youtube.com video on the six groups who benefit from our failed
marijuana prohibition policies:

Perhaps he should have added another: Senile, out-of-touch, medical
doctors who set up phone marijuana "treatment" clinics.

To the Editor of Rolling Stone Magazine:

America's pot problem is that the Mexican drug cartels have several
hundred, if not several thousand, politicians on their payroll. It was
revealed that Al Capone on several hundred politicians on his payroll.
Are we supposed to believe that the drug cartels are not following
Capone's example?

Joe Biden was a leading drug war cheerleader in the Senate. Are we
supposed to believe that he is not on the cartel's payroll?

To the Editor of The Independent:

Sirs, I'm writing about your thoughtful editorial (11 Dec 12).

However, decriminalization is not the answer. Decriminalization is what
we in the United States had during Alcohol Prohibition (punishing the
producers and suppliers but not the users). The only answer is full
legalization.

Only fully legal products can be regulated by any government agency.
Only fully legal products can be controlled by any government agency.
And only fully legal products can be taxed by any government agency.
