To the Editor of The Morning Bulletin:

Sirs: I'm writing about Kerri-anne Mesner's column: "Crime thrives of
illegal drugs" (3-Aug-15).

Caffeine is a drug. How much crime and corruption do you have associated
with it?
My guess is none. None what-so-ever. Why?

It's legal.

Criminalize caffeine and the situation would soon change.

To the Editor of The Boston Herald:

Thanks for publishing George Will's thoughtful column: "Cartels only
victors in bloody
drug 'war'" (7-6-15). I'd like to add that caffeine is a drug. A mind
altering drug that is
potentially lethal in very large doses, yet how much crime and
corruption do we have
related to it? None. None what-so-ever. Why?

It's legal.

Criminalize caffeine and the situation will soon change.

To the Editor of The Wyoming News:

Re: "WYOMING POLICE GROUP PLANS ANTI-POT EFFORT" (7-7-15).

Before marijuana was criminalized via the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937 the
vast majority of teenagers had no idea what marijuana was. Now every
teen knows what marijuana is and about half of all high school students
will use it before they graduate.

If you want as many children as possible to use marijuana, keep it a
criminalized substance. Marijuana use has increased one thousand fold since
it was criminalized via the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937. Testifying
before the U. S. Congress in 1937 the Commissioner of Narcotics Harry
Anslinger testified that the United States had a total of 100,000
marijuana users.

Now the government says that more then 100 million Americans have used
marijuana. The lure of the forbidden fruit is very powerful--especially
for children.
