Contact: http://www.madison.com/wsj/ MEDICINAL-USE POT TRIAL SCHEDULED Delphia Toney, the Hazel Green grandmother charged with possessing marijuana she said she used for medicinal purposes, pleaded not guilty Monday to two misdemeanor counts in Grant County Circuit Court. Toney, 63, was arrested earlier this month after postal officials intercepted a package sent to her from California that contained marijuana. Toney said she began smoking the pot about a year ago after she started undergoing treatment and surgeries for stomach pain, claiming she couldn't get regular medicine to ease her pain. Along with the possession charge, Toney faces one count of possessing drug paraphernalia, a pipe. If convicted, she faces up to seven months in jail, up to $1,500 in fines and the loss of her driver's license. Toney remains free on $1,000 signature bond and is scheduled for a court appearance Oct 26. - --- MAP posted-by: Keith Brilhart
