Re "Lawyers Say Drug War's Tactics Draw Addicts Into Serious Crime"
(news article, Aug. 19): Undercover police teams that try to get
recovering heroin users to sell their weekend supplies of methadone as
they leave their clinics are nothing short of inhumane. Calling that a
drug bust is bizarre and sharply underscores the futility of the war
on drugs.
