SUPP TO COMBAT ECSTASY ABUSE DANGER

KUCHING: The Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) will work closely with
the Chinese community in the state to highlight the dangers of the abuse of
Ecstasy pyschotropic pills, said its president Tan Sri Dr George Chan. The
issue will be discussed at the party's central working committee meeting
today, he told reporters here yesterday.

"This is an urban problem which means that the majority (of those affected)
are Chinese youths,'' he said.

Earlier, he presented a cheque for RM12,000 as a donation from the SUPP to
the family of the late Mathew ak Medan, the ranger who was brutally
murdered by criminals in last month's Sauk incident.
