DOCTOR WHO? THE ITEM about marijuana in the August 6 Sunday Times would be ludicrous if it weren't written by a doctor who writes a medical column! Where does this man get his information? Where does this man practice medicine? And on whom? Everything he wrote has been refuted over and over again by not only respected medical experts but also government commissions. Congenital abnormalities? Brain damage? It's as if his body of knowledge was derived from repeated showings of "Reefer Madness". Ironically, his column appeared just a week after a Canadian appeals court ruled unanimously that Canada's marijuana law was unconstitutional because it had been imposed in 1923 from "ignorance and superstition" and "wild and outlandish claims". I suggest that The Canberra Times find itself another medical columnist, one who actually knows something. JEFF MEYERS Ventura, California - --- MAP posted-by: Larry Stevens
