THE BITTER TRUTH

Your response to Gerald M. Sutliff's Aug. 10 letter misleads the public
into thinking Linda Williamson, ("Why I'm not high on legalizing pot,"
Aug. 5) is compassionate. You commented: "Linda's in favour of
marijuana being available medically. She's opposed to it being
legalized." What? The bitter truth is she still wants marijuana
prohibition laws -- laws that destroy families by keeping prisons
filled with those who have done nothing but enjoy an alternate to the
addictive drug -- alcohol.

(So what's next then? Legalize crack, heroin, LSD?)
