Johnson: http://www.mapinc.org/johnson.htm AT LEAST JOHNSON HAS GUTS In your Aug. 26 editorial, "Gov. Johnson's rhetoric keeps going and going . . ." you state that "Johnson is using the authority of his office to needlessly promote and publicize an issue out of his political jurisdiction." If Gov. Johnson didn't use the power of his office to open up a dialogue regarding this nation's insane war on marijuana and other illegal drugs, who would? George W. Bush? Al Gore? Not likely! The fact is this country is governed by a pack of gutless wonders who are more than willing to imprison pot-smokers, provided they don't have to discuss the issue in public. At least Gov. Gary Johnson has a backbone. That's more than you can say about Diane Denish, Al Gore or "Dubya." WALTER F. WOUK- Director, The Thomas Paine Project Cobleskill, N.Y. - --- MAP posted-by: Don Beck
