COLOMBIA: PUT MONEY INTO REHABILITATION EFFORTS

Regarding the article on aid to Colombia for its war against drugs ("U.S.
puts cash into drug war," News, Aug. 31): So once again our government is
going to flush an additional $1.3 billion of our tax dollars down the drug
toilet in South America.

This money should be used in the United States to eliminate the drug market
by curing addicts. We keep making the same feeble effort and getting the
same feeble results --- the drugs keep flowing in to meet the demand.
