NOT EVERY MARIJUANA USER HAS A 'PROBLEM'

CAN I have some space to rebut Licia Corbella's Aug 27 column and
Brian Purdy's Aug. 30 Letter of the Day decrying marijuana use? I
won't deny marijuana can have some bad side effects, but that does not
mean everyone who uses it has a "problem" with it any more than all
drinkers have a "problem" with alcohol. We view each new crop of
alcoholics as a statistically acceptable side effect of legal alcohol.
As for the munchies, the last time I looked, late-night restaurants
were full of drunks. And a lot of them are pretty lethargic the next
day -- some even suffer memory loss!
