MCC CONSIDERS LEGAL HEROIN

MELBOURNE City Council will consider advocating a legal heroin trial
as part of its drug action plan.

The draft plan, put forward after community consultation, will be
discussed by the environment, community and cultural development
committee next month.

Other proposed initiatives include a CBD community health centre, more
uniformed police on the streets, an overdose recovery service, more
detoxification and rehabilitation services, a memorial to people who
have died from drug overdoses and drug-free events for young people,
including dance parties.
