NEW ZEALAND SHOULD FOLLOW SWITZERLAND

THE NEWS ITEM from Berne stating that Switzerland is about to legalise
cannabis smoking ( ODT, 4.10.00) should give cannabis prohibitionists
something to think about. However, their inability to face facts and reach
logical conclusions suggests that some will now be worried their alpine
clocks will go cuckoo and strike 13! Prohibi tionists should consider that
this is a conservative country making the move despite opposition from
countries like France and the United States. In fact, it is already legal
in Switzerland to grow and sell any kind of cannabis (fibrous, seed-bearing
or resinous) provided it is not intended for smoking. Consequently there
are many herbal pillows and such being sold, purportedly for
aromatherapeutic purposes.

New Zealand - the Switzerland of the South Pacific? Well it has been
suggested before and the current Miss Switzerland is Maori! The sooner we
"Berne" cannabis prohibition the sooner the persecution of cannabis users
by our police and so-called justice system will cease.
