CLEAN AIR ACT There are at least two goods things about the defeat of the Tuesday ballot measure that would have legalized marijuana in Alaska. First, it lost. Lost big, in fact. That's a very good result, one that tells the dope-heads of America that Alaska will not be a haven for them and their habits. Second, the proponents of the measure wasted an awful lot of money trying to foist this off on Alaskans. Good. Glad to have their money thrown into the trash can, along with their schemes. Let them try this next time in some other state. A big majority of Alaskans proved themselves smarter than the pot smokers. No surprise, of course. - --- MAP posted-by: Terry Liittschwager
