SHOULD MEDICINAL MARIJUANA BE LEGALIZED?

Marijuana should be legalized in the most severe cases (of illness). If
someone is in a lot of pain and we think marijuana is the only thing that
can help, we should not watch them suffer.

Iris, Grade 11 Burnaby South Secondary

- ------------------------------

I don't think marijuana should be illegal. It's just like a nerve calmer.
I think it should be legal for every purpose. It doesn't harm you or
others in any way.

It's like smoking a cigarette.

Jennie, Grade 11 Burnaby South Secondary

- ------------------------------

Rather than legalize marijuana - because I think there are a lot of
problems that go along with that (taxes and regulations) - I really think
government should just decriminalize it..

If it were decriminalized, patients could cultivate clean marijuana and
they could do so affordably.

People shouldn't have to pay taxes to feel better.

Jeremy, Grade 11 Port Moody Secondary

- ------------------------------

If marijuana will help to relieve pain and has actually been proven to do
so, I suppose that it should be (legal) - but in strictly controlled
moderation.

Brian, Grade 11 Tamanawis Secondary

- ------------------------------

There are worse drugs in the world than the marijuana plant.

They make a bigger deal about marijuana than cocaine. It's not that harmful.

Alisa, Grade 11 Avalon Secondary

- ------------------------------

I think marijuana should be legalized but I think "medicinal purposes" is
just an excuse.

Jesse, Grade 11 Burnaby South Secondary
