IT'S SAD TO SEE WE NEVER LEARN

A REPORT from Lifeline, in Manchester, states that children as young as six
have tried cannabis. What else can we expect when governments leave the
trade in the hands of criminals?

On February 9, 1925, Colonel William L Barker, Northern Division, Salvation
Army, was asked by a Minnesota newspaper about the impact of Prohibition.
His response is as relevant to the parents of today as it was to the parents
of the time: "Prohibition has diverted the energies of the Salvation Army
from the drunkard in the gutter to the boys and girls in their teens."

Of course, it would be too much to expect people to learn from history. It
makes much more sense to repeat mistakes over and over, ad nauseam.
