I DON'T BUY IT

To the editor:

Do the police expect us to believe this story? First, Mena is stopped
with a .380-caliber handgun and the only thing that happened is they
confiscated the gun. The two papers in this city have different
versions of the same story: one where Mena fires at police and one
where he is shot first and then fires on the police. I don't buy it.

Then we have the "inmate" who informs special prosecutor Dave Thomas
that Mena was a guard for the drug house? What is going on here? I
know I was born late, but not yesterday. Get real, DA Thomas, and get
to the bottom of all this. This man was murdered! Plain and simple.
Mistake were made on a grand scale. There is no Spanish person that
would get a gun confiscated and nothing else in Denver, and we all
know this.
