Elrod Note: Parenthetical remark by the Sun editor UNTOUCHABLES WON'T WORK The bloody gang war waging in Winnipeg over the cocaine trade is more akin to Chicago during alcohol prohibition than Tombstone, Ariz. (letters, Dec. 19) Enlisting more Untouchables to chase the Capones is not the solution. Fighting the drug trade simply makes drugs more valuable and dealers more ruthless. We fought the law of economics and the law won. Time to stop the failed war on drugs. Matthew M. Elrod, Victoria, B.C. (Legalize this trade? Don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen.) - --- MAP posted-by: Larry Stevens
