LUJAN FAMILY IS A VICTIM OF THE DRUG WAR

The confiscation of Noel Lujan's children by Orange County's Children
and Family Services Agency is criminal ["Every mother's nightmare,"
Opinion, Feb. 13]. It goes against every principle that guided our
libertarian founding. And it is yet another example of how the drug
war so often takes innocent casualties. From asset forfeiture, to
no-knock raids, to disregard for law and the courts that are charged
with protecting it, you can clearly see how the war on drugs is a war
on people.

Hysteria is the fuel that keeps it going and silence is its oxygen.
Even our prohibition against alcohol pales in comparison to the harm
brought upon the innocent by this war on drugs.
