USE OF HARD DRUGS

Sir, There are letters today under the heading "Legalise cannabis to stop
crime". There is also a report on the rise in deaths from hard drug use.

Do schools realise that when they threaten drug tests, some students move
straight on from the relatively harmless cannabis to the infinitely more
dangerous cocaine and heroin which are less likely to be detected in such
tests?

Yours faithfully, ANTHEA GOLDSMITH, 22 Well Walk, Hampstead, NW3 1LD.
