FAILED DRUG LAWS

THE cause of death of a 6-year-old girl by a 6-year-old boy has not been
covered by the various letters about guns and family.

When will we wake up and realize that drugs are the problem? Read your
paper. Nearly all violent crime is drug related. Drugs have been a problem
since the '60s, and the problem has escalated ever since. Our drug
enforcement laws cost lives and millions of dollars and have not made a dent
in the trade. If we would legalize and control drugs, it would eliminate the
profit for drug dealers -- no more pushers or killings over drugs.

Denmark has a plan whereby drug addicts can get their ration of drugs at a
pharmacy. They live productive lives and are able to work and raise their
children.
