WAR ON MARIJUANA SHOULD BE STOPPED

Regarding Francisco Lynch's April 19 letter, "Marijuana series was an
insult to police": He said, "I think it is an insult to the many law
enforcement officers who have been working hard, getting hurt and
occasionally having to arrest their own relatives."

I agree. It is an insult to these officers, who are forced to uphold an
unconstitutional and unjust law in an unwinnable war. I felt the
eradication series was written fairly, and you're right - prohibition is
ridiculous.

This is the longest-running civil war in our history. If you don't feel
it's a war on people, I suggest you try experiencing up to five helicopters
buzzing 50 to 100 feet over your neighborhood. This happens to the extent
that we have 5-year-old children having nightmares about scary helicopters
and mean policemen.

I believe that if you don't help us stop this activity in our back yard,
your back yard will be next.
