Sutliff, Emeryville, CA WAR ON DRUGS The article, "U.S. juvenile justice hardly colorblind report finds" 26 April 2000, covering timely, vital and important information is hardly "news" to anyone who has been paying attention to the criminal justice system, prison populations and prosecution of the so called War on Drugs. Too many of us, white and black, seem to think that those who get tangled up in the system deserve it. As pointed out in "My Word" (also today, 26 April 2000) we as a nation accept too readily the proposition that minorities are less deserving of the better things America has to offer. The term "War on Drugs" is a misnomer, it is in reality a "War with Drugs," that is, drugs are the weapons of choice by the majority against minorities. This is supported by U.S. justice statistics.
