In his judgment, Justice Datuk Abdul Wahab Patail said the prosecution had proved beyond reasonable doubt its case against Muhammad Safarudin Baba and Mohamed Ashraf Endut. He said he found it too difficult to believe the testimony of the two accused as well as their defence that they were innocent carriers. "The conclusion is that their story is entirely false and for that reason incapable of raising even a reasonable doubt,'' he said, adding that their testimony was nothing more than unsupported and unverified assertions. Mohammad Safarudin, 20, and Mohamed Endut, 19, were represented by Bhagwan Singh and Adam Yap respectively while the prosecution was headed by Deputy Public Prosecutor Vong Poh Fah. - --- MAP posted-by: Allan Wilkinson
