CLAIMS WRONG

JULIANNE Whyte tries to use figures to justify her disapproval of needle
exchange programs.

She claims that needle availability has not helped stem the spread of viral
diseases, but the reverse is actually the case.

Most public health experts accept that clean needles prevent viral diseases
and do not encourage drug use - any more than clean glasses would encourage
more drinking.

Needle availability is no longer on trial, Ms Whyte, you are.
