ELY'S DRUG SOLUTIONS?

In her June 28 Editorial page column, "GOPer's got drug stats but no
emotion," Jane Ely missed the real gist of New Mexico's Republican Gov. Gary
Johnson, who is currently having discussions with conservatives and
Republicans on what to do about the country's drug problem.

Johnson's contention is that we have lost the war on drugs and he has
offered suggestions on what course we may want to take in the future. He
used statistics to state his case.

Ely's column, on the other hand, offered no solutions to the problem, it
simply bashed Johnson and the Republican Party.
