DRUG WARRIORS' POT SHOTS

Medicine Hat, Alta. -- Congratulations on Are The Fuzz On A Buzz?
(William Johnson -- June 2), regarding the misinformation the
Canadian Police Association trotted out to justify its self-serving
argument to continue the travesty that is the war on some drugs. The
laws against cannabis were brought in quickly, with no parliamentary
discussion, and the public perceptions that supported them were based
on lies and misinformation.

Thirty years ago, the LeDain commission recommended the
decriminalization of pot, but our authorities have maintained the
status quo through deception. It is great to see the mainstream media
asking the tough questions and pointing out the inconsistencies in
the control warriors' arguments. The one thing these liars cannot
stand is reasoned public scrutiny.
