WAR ON DRUGS DIMINISHES OUR RIGHTS

Letter writer Don Radke was right on the mark in his June 12
cyberletter, "The 'marketing plan' of the law." The legalization of
recreational drugs would eliminate the profit motive, thus it would
eliminate drug dealers.

Legalization would also eliminate the need for so many prisons,
prison guards and law enforcement personnel.

This is why everybody on both sides of the law with a vested interest
in perpetuating the failed war on drugs will do anything and
everything in their power to prevent now illegal recreational drugs
from becoming legal.

Until this issue is resolved, the war on drugs will continue to
expand and our rights as free citizens will continue to shrink.
