COUNTY PLAN TO COMPLY WITH DRUG-TREATMENT PROPOSITION GETS GRADE OF C

A survey of California's 11 most populous counties showed a wide variation
in the amount of money the counties will devote to treatment and the range
of treatment options they will provide as they comply with Proposition 36.

Riverside County, which was complimented because District Attorney Grover
Trask publicly disclosed how his office intends to charge drug offenders,
received an overall C grade from Proposition 36 advocates.

See Thursday's Desert Sun For the Lindesmith Center-Drug Policy
Foundation's survey results.

Proposition 36 see Saturday's Desert Sun.
