THE CANNABIS-CODEINE PAIN CONNECTION

Cannabis is no more effective than codeine for treating pain.
("Cannabinoids Compared With Codeine for Pain," July 9.) The last time I
checked, codeine was commonly prescribed for pain because it is widely
recognized to be effective. By comparison, that would make marijuana fairly
effective as well.
