DISTRICT DISCUSSES DRUG TESTING

The Erie School Board will seek more information and input about a
mandatory drug testing program for students.

Board member Kim Bond said it is time that students should be tested,
and testing programs have been started in other districts. Parents Jim
and Sharon McMillan attended the board's meeting to ask about the program.

Superintendent Mike Ryan said he will have someone come to a future
public meeting to explain how drug testing is handled in other
districts and begin a discussion on whether the Erie district wants to
implement one.
