REMARKS UNAPPRECIATED

I am deeply offended by the remarks of Prosecutor Larry Jegley regarding
raves in Little Rock in the Aug. 31 article. For the record, I am a recent
graduate of the University of Arkansas, currently working on campus as a
computer support specialist. I am also a DJ who is quite involved with this
scene. I pay taxes. I don't do drugs. I like video games, mountain biking
and playing my records.

I live a fairly ordinary life. But due to reports like this, whenever I
tell co-workers or friends that I rave, I have to explain for half an hour
or more why raving does not make me a worthless crack head.

Jegley claims there are two prices for water based on whether you are
buying water laced with drugs or not. I look nothing like an undercover
officer, and I've never been offered drugs at a water vendor's table. The
idea is preposterous to anyone involved in the scene, and to any person,
including undercover officers, who's spent more than 30 minutes at a rave.
But due to Jegley's status as prosecuting attorney, those who only know of
our scene through the media will take his hearsay as truth.
