LEGALIZATION WOULD CURTAIL BAD DRUG DANGER

Re: "Club drug warning issued," (Nov. 2).

The police issue a warning about certain illegal drugs because the user
cannot rely on their potency or purity and the Times Colonist merely
regurgitates the information without asking the police spokesperson if the
same problems would confront users if these drugs were made legal.

The answer, of course, is that fewer users would suffer deleterious effects
if the drugs were legalized and users were allowed to purchase cheap,
clean, quality tested drugs at the corner store as tobacco users do.
