Daley wants a new law on the books that could land some building owners in jail. Officials say, more and more kids as young as 12 and 13 are showing up at local hospitals after taking the drug, "ecstasy," a staple at rave parties. Building owners often say they are not aware of the illicit drug use. Daley isn't convinced. "This administration will introduce an ordinance proposing a jail term for two weeks to six months for knowingly maintaining a place where controlled substances are used distributed, manufactured or stored," Daley said at the news conference. The mayor made the announcement at the site of a now-closed club that was known for holding raves. Under the proposed law, if a building owner did nothing after being notified that the parties were going on that owner would be held criminally liable. - --- MAP posted-by: Jo-D
