Speers Note: Parenthetical remark by the Sun editor BUSTS ONLY CAUSE RISE IN DEMAND FOR DRUGS ANOTHER DAY, another drug bust. It seems the majority of politicians and police brass ignore the fact that with every major bust the demand continues to rise. If the demand rises the price rises, leaving all drug addicts to continue robbing the public. If you are an addict -- say crack, for example -- and have a $100 a day habit, you are going to rob and mug people to get the drug. If you stop 200 shipments coming in every day you will miss 500 more. People are going to do drugs until the end of time, just as the ancient Egyptians did. Throwing people in jail does not address the problem. Will a leader with some common sense ever emerge? N. Speers (Drugs are illegal, and should be.) - --- MAP posted-by: Larry Stevens
