LET'S LEGALIZE, TAX DRUGS

Don Feder makes quite a hysterical case against medical marijuana ("Court
looks at medical marijuana," April 2). Despite Feder's ranting, there is
no significant evidence that smoking pot will lead to heroin addiction.
Beer and hard liquor are legal and there are more Americans addicted to
alcohol, more lives and families ruined by alcohol than by all drugs
combined. Most alcoholics started drinking as teens.

Children need to see adults using pot and alcohol responsibly; we need to
have rational dialogue about drugs; and we need to legalize marijuana and
tax it.
