BETTER WAY TO HANDLE MARIJUANA THAN LAW ENFORCEMENT

So, Guy W. Farmer thinks medical marijuana is a bad idea? He is free not
to use it. If anyone thinks marijuana is not acceptable medicine they
should simply avoid its use. Don't tell others what they should or
shouldn't do to themselves.

I'm sure Mr. Farmer would agree it's a bad idea to smoke four packs of
cigarettes every day, or drink a liter of scotch every night. Why don't
we make that behavior illegal? Mr. Farmer supports imprisonment of drug
users. We only imprison alcoholics if they drive while impaired or
assault others. Why imprison marijuana users (especially those who are
using the plant to relieve medical symptoms) if they have committed no
other crimes?

Taxpayer money should not be wasted in an attempt to force adults to
maintain a healthy lifestyle, or give up a "bad" one.
