DRUG COURT A BARGAIN FOR TAXPAYERS

Support It

In reference to the May 5 article "Addicts finding support they crave from
drug court": I was elated to read about the program that gives drug
abusers/addicts counseling and rehabilitation instead of a jail sentence.
To give these people hope instead of hell is one of the answers this
country needs to reduce crowding in prisons and the number of drug
abusers/addicts committing crimes on the streets.

Kudos to Judge Nelson Bailey and all those involved. As for the need for
money, I'll be first in line to donate. That would be a drop in the bucket
when compared with what taxpayers otherwise would pay to investigate and
prosecute the crimes that could be committed by these people.
