STRIP SEARCH BEGS QUESTIONS To the editor: Regarding the strip search of Aleashia Stanley, 17, and Aimee Kindervater, 22, by police who suspected them of carrying drugs at a rave: Kindervater testified the police made her "pull down my underwear, turn around and bend over." What would have happened to the young women had they refused the police order? What defence do your women have when the police use the excuse that "they suspect a girl is hiding a pill and they need to make sure she is in compliance with the laws of the state?" What message is this sending to those who are now considering signing up to become police officers? Are you all subject to these sickening abuses by your police officers?
