Christopher WASHINGTON DRUG WARRIORS FIGHTING RIDICULOUS BATTLE Editor, the Tribune: Kudos to your publisher for his stand on medical and recreational marijuana. The time is long overdue for debate on all issues pertaining to marijuana. While the rest of this planet is softening its ridiculous posture on marijuana, America moves further into the drug war. The war on some drugs will not end until Congress feels the will of the voter at the polls. When a Senate or House member loses his post to anti-drug war sentiment, the situation will change - and fast. The effectiveness of the drug war cannot be measured in political rhetoric as our government would have us believe, but the cost of drug war is felt every day by drug war prisoners, asset forfeiture and police corruption. Do not return drug warriors to Washington, and the war will end. Peter C. Christopher Locust, N.J. - --- MAP posted-by: Terry Liittschwager
