STUDENT AID LAW IS UNFAIR TO DRUG USERS

In response to the Daily Mail's Jan. 1 editorial, "College: Those who sell
drugs should not get federal aid," why is selling marijuana any more evil
than using it? Do you have the local liquor store owner arrested when you
have too much to drink and wreck your car? Do you hold him accountable when
you get (bombed) and insult your girlfriend?

Are you going to arrest the owner of the supermarket who sold you tobacco
when you get lung cancer from buying his product and smoking it? And by the
way, there is absolutely nothing in that student aid law that restricts the
penalties from applying to cases of simple possession.
