DRUG BUST ANGERS HIGH RIVER MAYOR

The mayor of High River is declaring war on drugs after the biggest cocaine 
bust the area has ever seen rocked his quiet Alberta town.

High River RCMP and Calgary RCMP's Emergency Response Team smoked out a 
mobile home at 228 Poplar Ave. Friday after a five-day investigation found 
it was being used as a crack house.

'War' Declared

"I would like to declare a war on drugs," High River Mayor Dan Campbell 
said, adding he is relieved -- but not surprised -- at the find.

"It affects so many kids and ruins so many lives -- something needs to be 
done."

Police seized about 16 grams of crack cocaine, hash oil and drug 
paraphernalia, as well as stolen rings and credit cards.

But Campbell said anyone lured to small Alberta towns to conduct their 
criminal activity are in for a rude awakening.

No Tolerance

"I hope they get the message that we're not going to put up with them 
here," he said.

Charged are the home's residents, Geoffrey Thomas Moore, 44, and Rhonda 
Lynn Nisby, 34, as well as Leonard Vernon Anderson, 41, and Marcel Joseph 
Plante, 30.

Nisby, Anderson and Plante will appear in Okotoks provincial court Feb. 14, 
while Moore will appear in a Calgary court for a show-cause hearing tomorrow.
