THE WRONG APPROACH

For years, school systems have been revising the U.S. Constitution in the
way it relates to students. Students have no right to privacy and are guilty
until proven innocent. By allowing random drug tests of athletes and
students who participate in extracurricular activities, the Supreme Court is
encouraging students not to participate in school-sponsored activities.

Also, many individuals have suggested that students who participate in
extracurricular activities are less likely to consume drugs and alcohol. As
a recent high school graduate, I can assure the American people that drugs
and alcohol are not biased. Athletes, National Honor Society members, band
members and artists have all experimented with or regularly use drugs and/or
alcohol.
