PROHIBITING TOBACCO IS TACTIC THAT WON'T WORK

I am writing about a recent letter here that was titled "Best tactic
is to make tobacco illegal."

If prohibition worked, tobacco should be the first product prohibited
and alcohol the second.

The annual kill ratio for tobacco vs. marijuana is more than 400,000
to zero in the United States and more than 3.5 million to zero worldwide.

But prohibition doesn't work, except to provide full employment for
those doing the prohibiting.
