MARIJUANA BAN WON'T WORK

If July 3 letter-writer Frank Montelione thinks that "Medical marijuana is
not needed," he is free to not use it. Thousands of patients and their
doctors feel otherwise.

For unbiased information on marijuana, I suggest readers check the Web site
http://drugwarfacts.org/marijuan.htm

Regarding the dangers of marijuana, in the 5,000-year history of its use
there has yet to be a documented death caused by it. If prohibition worked,
tobacco should be the first product banned and alcohol the second.

The annual kill ratio for tobacco vs. marijuana is greater than 400,000 to
zero in the USA and 3.5 million to zero worldwide.

But prohibition doesn't work except to provide full employment for those
doing the prohibiting.
