WOODCHUCKS LOW ON VICTIMIZATION SCALE

I just have to comment on the article in the July 18 edition of The
Post-Crescent in regard to the animal cruelty charge of the 20-year-old
from Kaukauna. I will be watching this carefully, just to see what indeed
this guy gets out of this. My guess is that he will probably get the
maximum, just because of the quality of society and what it is today. The
judges would rather give convicted drug dealers just probation, or let them
off with just a fine.

Look in the court records: 15 days in jail with two years probation for
credit card fraud; one year probation for falsifying a prescription; one
year probation for a battery charge from a domestic disturbance, and my
personal favorite, two years probation for possession of marijuana.

What is this world coming to? You get a slap on the wrist for beating up
your wife or girlfriend, or possession of illegal drugs, but can go to
prison for two years for killing a woodchuck? I hope the judges see this,
because I sure wouldn't want a convicted woodchuck killer loose on the
streets. I would much rather have the domestic abusers and the druggies around.
