Cauchon, as justice minister, is a member of the federal cabinet. By virtue of being part of this exclusive club, he is also a member of the Privy Council, which also means he has diplomatic status, and a diplomatic passport. As a result, Cauchon will have no trouble crossing the border at all. Unfortunately, many other Canadians, who have been ensnared by the ridiculous cannabis laws, will.
