VIGILANTE GROUP FORMED A group of anti-drug crusaders warned the people involved in the illegal drug trade in Dumaguete City that they will suffer from their outrage if drug personalities continue with their illegal activities. A newly created "6425 Brigade" (apparently in reference to Republic Act 6425, otherwise known as the Dangerous Drugs Act of 1972), admitted in a press statement that it is a vigilante group that is out to help the government eliminate the drug problem. A certain Kumander Boy Blanco, who signed the statement, said the group will issue a warning, impose fines, extradite or even kill a drug personality, depending on his participation in the trade. He said they will also make arrests and help prosecute the suspects. Blanco also said that the group will help educate the different sectors in the society on the evils of drugs. But he underscored the need to educate the masses so that they can be mobilized in the campaign. "The masses should vigorously fight against these evils who enriched themselves through their illegal drug activities," Blanco said. The brigade said after a month of disseminating the information, it will start to conduct different types of operations against the drug trade. "To all drug lords, protectors, distributors and pushers, your days are numbered. You better stop now with your evil deeds. After a month from this warning, if you will not stop, you will get what you want," Blanco added. - --- MAP posted-by: Doc-Hawk
