BASH THE YANKS

Re: "Hey man! Don't Bogart that joint," Catherine Ford, Opinion, July 24.

I gather Catherine Ford once lived in Toronto. I'm just delighted to see
this good old strain of anti-Americanism, which was so characteristic of
Canada when I was growing up there and which I had feared had disappeared
forever, starting to resurface. It used to irritate the heck out of me, but
I now realize it's exactly what we need.

However, I don't understand the headline on Ford's column. I'm familiar
with Bogart, since I worked so hard to look like him when I was a kid
learning how to smoke, but what does the verb "to Bogart" mean?
