In her letter to the Log Cabin Democrat (July 28), Hope Rice sees drug
testing of our children as a safety net. The fact is drug testing is
an unconstitutional infringement of the rights of our children.

To require someone to prove they are not guilty of something there is
not reason to suspect they have done is not in the interest of a free
society. It is a fascist policy that only teaches our children to be
afraid of the state, or else.

Perhaps Hope would see fit to put all our children into a padded cell
and strap them down in a bed so they don't hurt themselves. This would
be a great safety net, don't you think, Hope? I want my children to
live with as much freedom and as few fascists (even when claim to be
do-gooders) as possible.
