PROHIBITION IS GOOD...FOR COPS

RE "DON'T ease up on pot: Police" (Aug. 25): It appears the Canadian
Police Association is one of the only groups left in the country that
not only dogmatically sticks to the argument that reefer madness is
threatening the moral and physical well-being of society, it also
denounces the legalization of illicit drugs, including marijuana.

Considering the CPA's membership is made up largely of people whose
livelihood depends upon sustaining the war on drugs, is it any wonder?
